Advocacy has been at the center of our Chamber world lately. If you haven’t heard already, FE Warren Air Force Base is in contention for a major new nuclear weapons command. Global Strike Command could make its home in Cheyenne, and we are doing all we can to show what a perfect place FE Warren is for this Command. It would bring many new jobs to Cheyenne, and be a great benefit to our local military. We have great housing, infrastructure, education and technology benefits, as well as a very

welcoming community. I grew up in Cheyenne, and have always been impressed by how
the military base and the civilian community support each other. This is a great opportunity for us to show our Base how appreciative we are of their efforts, not to mention bring much needed jobs to Cheyenne. While we are still doing pretty well despite the rough economy (MSNBC reported Wyoming one of the top states for finding a job), bringing about 600 new jobs to Cheyenne would certainly be great.
From the Chamber perspective, we have been working hard to get noticed and put FE Warren on the map. What are your thoughts about this new Command and getting it to Cheyenne?
What a wonderful thing for the City of Cheyenne if we get selected for the Global Strike Command! I grew up in Cheyenne and lived 5 blocks from the Base. There is such a great symbiotic relationship between the City of Cheyenne, its citizens and the Air Force Base. We are one. The personnel on the Base are also great and they add so much to our community. Guaranteed, the addition to Warren will be received well by our citizens.
